The children, staff and Governing Board would like to welcome you to West Walton Primary School website. We hope that our website provides an insight into life at West Walton Primary School and offers you some useful information about our school.
West Walton is an average sized primary school located in rural West Norfolk, close to the Cambridgeshire border. It forms part of The Windmill Primary Federation along with Terrington St John, Tilney St Lawrence and Walpole Highway.
At West Walton Primary School, we pride ourselves on having a reputation as a friendly, family orientated school. The children all know one another well and feel safe and secure. We offer a rich, stimulating, learning environment. The dedicated and creative staff have high expectations for our pupils. This means that children are routinely challenged to achieve their full potential. Positive learning behaviours are promoted and these are evident in all classes. Staff are committed to securing the best outcomes for every child regardless of their individual starting points. We like to engage parents and carers and together place what is best for our children at the heart of all we do.
Our school has approximately 240 children on roll. Children are spread across eight single age classes. The main building houses our older, Key Stage Two children, the school hall and the administrative team. Key Stage One children are based in two spacious mobiles, which offer quick access to the outside environment. A separate building houses a dedicated space for the children in our Nursery and Reception classes.
The school grounds are frequently developed, so that there is always something new for our children to enjoy. Our School Association have been very supportive; they have purchased many different games and activities for the children to enjoy. Our large playing field is ideal for sporting activities. There are lots of opportunities for children to take part in a wide range of After School Clubs. In addition to this, we offer very high quality Childcare including breakfast, after school, and holidays.
Thank you for visiting our website and showing an interest in our school. Any paper copies of information can be requested from the school office. If you would like to arrange a visit to the school or find out more information, please contact us and we will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
